Hi Ngoc, could you share your feelings about the internship process at Konica Minolta?
Hello, thank you for your question. The internship at Konica Minolta was a valuable experience that brought me a lot of useful knowledge.
I had the opportunity to meet Konica’s representatives directly at ULIS JOB FAIR 2024 on January 20th when the company was looking to recruit sales support interns. My first impression of Konica is youthness, friendliness and openness. All questions I asked that time were responded quickly and enthusiastically, which made me even more determined to perform well in the interview right after so that I could work with whom I met. Perhaps because of that spirit, I was given the opportunity to intern at Konica for 6 months.
Besides, thanks to the dedicated mentor and the systematic training program, I caught up quite quickly even though it was my first internship. I got devoted guidance from my mentor and enthusiastic support from others in the company. During and after the process of carrying out assigned tasks, I also received useful suggestions and advice to improve both specialized knowledge and soft skills such as writing formal email skills (in English and Vietnamese), presentation skills, teamwork skills.
During the 6 months of internship at KM, what impressed you the most?
I am very impressed with the teamwork spirit as well as the training program for newcomers, but the deepest impression is probably almost no overtime at KM. Based on my observation, people often focus on working efficiently to finish the job on time. In my mind, at many companies, especially at Japanese companies, overtime is a very common thing. But on coming to Konica, I experienced an effective working environment to leave work on time without feeling embarrassed or afraid of being judged.
During your internship at Konica, what do you remember most?
Being an intern at Konica brought me many memorable memories when working with colleagues, meeting customers, joining company activities and events. What I remember most is the time my Japanese mentor entrusted me with the task of translating a Vietnamese-Japanese meeting between her and a Vietnamese customer. That was the first time I took the role as a translator for a discussion between two companies. Before that, she clearly explained the meeting content, guided and sent me related materials to prepare. Luckily, the discussion went quite smoothly. The mentor’s companionship and guidance helped me orient, understand the tasks I needed to do, thereby gradually accumulating experience and confidence. The KM third quarter excellent intern award I received is owing to Ms. Chiba’s guidance – the patient and dedicated mentor supported me a lot from the beginning to the end of the internship.
What message do you want to send to Konica Minolta?
I would like to thank Konica Minolta from the bottom of my heart for trusting and giving me the opportunity to meet and work with very friendly and professional people during my internship here. The past six months have been a great time for me to learn and experience. I believe that it is a good start for me to courageously step out into the big world from the university gate. I will cultivate and practice more so that I can accompany and stick with Konica for a long time on the next journey.
